The second phase of the Huadian Xizang Caipeng photovoltaic power plant officially began operation on December 14, 2024. This stage has significantly increased the energy production capacity, with the facility now covering an area of 134 hectares and boasting an installed capacity of 100,000 kilowatts.
The Huadian Xizang Caipeng solar power plant has become a key pillar for improving Tibet's energy infrastructure, especially in the winter and spring seasons when electricity shortages are most pronounced. It also drives the transition to more sustainable energy sources in one of the most remote and difficult-to-access regions on the planet.
China's Tibet Autonomous Region has just recorded a new achievement in the field of solar energy. The Huadian Xizang Caipeng solar power plant, located at an altitude of 5,100 meters above sea level, has reached a new operational phase, establishing itself as the highest solar photovoltaic project on the planet.
China Huadian is accelerating its pace of optimizing power sources and assets structure. It improves thermal power generation development, vigorously develops hydropower and wind power,
