This system helps to reduce carbon emissions by up to 150,000 kg annually. In 2023, Cathay Pacific installed its 2nd solar-power generation system at the Airline Store Building, at a target of 100kW rating. This initiative harnesses clean, renewable energy from sunlight which reduces the building's reliance on electricity generated by fossil fuels.
To minimise its environmental impact, Cathay Pacific has consistently invested in upgrading its building facilities to enhance efficiency. It has installed a solar energy system on the rooftop of Cathay City, its headquarters building, with a peak capacity of 200 kilowatts. This system helps to reduce carbon emissions by up to 150,000 kg annually.
