This paper proposes a control strategy for flexibly participating in power system frequency regulation using the energy storage of 5G base station. Firstly, the potential ability of energy storage in base station is analyzed from the structure and energy flow.
Meanwhile, communication base stations often configure battery energy storage as a backup power source to maintain the normal operation of communication equipment [3, 4]. Given the rapid proliferation of 5G base stations in recent years, the significance of communication energy storage has grown exponentially [5, 6].
This approach allows for the minimization of energy consumption at the base station without any impairment to the communication quality of the users. The temperature control system and the energy storage system adopt a virtual battery management system to centrally control the idle energy storage.
The primary responsibility of the base station energy storage is to protect the power supply of the base station, so the dynamic backup capacity of the base station in real time will be considered in the future.
