This report focuses on PV-powered charging stations (PVCS), which can operate for slow charging as well as for fast charging and with / without less dependency on the electricity grid. PVCS can also provide additional services via vehicle-to-grid (V2G) and vehicle-to-home (V2H). These may increase the effective use of locally produced solar power.
When establishing a charging station with integrated PV and energy storage in order to meet the charging demand of EVs while avoiding unreasonable investment and maximizing the economic benefits of the charging station, this requires full consideration of the capacity configuration of the PV, ESS, and charging stations.
3.2. Challenges: Capacity Allocation and Control Strategies The integrated PV and energy storage charging station realizes the close coordination of the PV power generation system, ESS, and charging station. It has significant advantages in alleviating the uncertainty of renewable energy generation and improving grid stability.
At present, there have been several scholars who have conducted extensive research on the capacity allocation of PV and energy storage EV charging stations. The Web of Science search found 157 relevant kinds of literature on the capacity configuration of PV and energy storage charging stations.
